Shot in the "cheek."

Today I went to get another ultrasound before I leave to make sure all is going good. It is going great. One of the boys is 2lbs 2oz and the other is 2lbs 5oz . Only 27% of women with twins have babies this size at 27 weeks. My doctor says this is wonderful. They have strong healthy hearts, stomachs and lungs. One baby (Shane) was head down and the other was sideways with its head on the other babies stomach (they are in seperate sacs though). The other baby (James) was the one hanging out under my ribs sideways. Man just wait until they are bigger and kick me in the ribs.

At this point if they were to be born they would have a good survival rate. If you are pregnant with twins they sometimes give you a Betamethasone shot to help speed up the development of the babies lungs. She made me go get this shot today just incase I were to deliver early because lung development would be better. There are no signs of this happening anytime soon, I think she just felt it would be good since I would be in CA for two weeks. I wonder how many more needles I have to come into contact with in the next several weeks. This one hurt!!! Really bad!! And.....I have to go back tomorrow for the other cheek. Boo Hoo!!!!

The first ultrasound photo is the bottom of two feet and in the middle is the hoo hoo or twig and berries.

The second ultrasound photo is a profile of one of the babies face and hand in the air.
