20 WEEKS

Ever since I had my sonogram, my baby boys have been kicking me like crazy. I feel like my rib cage is expanding because it is always so sore. My stomach muscles are taking a beating too. I seriously don't understand how I can possibly stretch more and I am only half way there!!!

I wonder if my cats have a sense of the babies in me. They always have to follow me around the house, they cry a lot more than usual. I guess they are putting me in training mode, because it is so annoying. They also always have to lay across my stomach. Maybe because my stomach is always hot like a heating pad. My hands and feet are normally always ice cold, but now they are warm. I guess my oven has turned up. This summer is going to be torture. I might have to go buy myself a kiddy pool to lay in North Carolina style. Not sure if I can bring myself to wear a bathing suit infront of others, although they do have such cute bathing suits at Old Navy for maternity.

I think I am going to become a baby boy clothing designer. It is so hard to find really cute boy clothing...definately not compared to girls. My friend Charlene seems to find all the cute boy stuff. I will ask her for advice. :) So far my friend Jordan has found two cute sleepers from Gymboree and one cute Pea Coat for one of the babies. I bought two cute little onezies and a pair of cords. TJ maxx has great deals if you want to dig. I am not really looking to dress the babies the same. I know that they will have their own personalities, so I guess I will dress them accordingly. Like if baby James is really smart, he will definately be sporting a bow tie. If baby Shane is a beach bum(in the middle of Western NC), he will be sporting baby board shorts. LOL.

How your baby's growing: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel. (For the first 20 weeks, we use measurements taken from the top of the baby's head to her bottom — known as the "crown to rump" measurement. After that, we use measurements from head to toe. This is because a baby's legs are curled up against her torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.)

A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats her entire body to protect her skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. (This slick coating also eases the journey down the birth canal.)

Your baby is swallowing more, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance that's the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid.
